This training will focus on navigating the arena of ethics for counselor s, focusing specifically on how these ethical issues are impacted in today’ s world of social media. We will examine questions such as when and if it i s appropriate for a professional counselors to have a presence on social me dia and if so, what is appropriate to post. What are the pitfalls of social media and dual relationships? We will also look at other forms of electron ic communication such as email, texting, distancing counseling, and their r ole in the therapeutic relationship.
